Vellore Temple:

Vellore has a very interesting history. Stone inscriptions in the fort indicate that it might have been built during the rule of Chinna Bommi Nayak (1526-1595AD). So Vellore actually goes back a few hundred years singe it was born.Since the construction of the Vellore Fort, there have been many kings and dynasties that have been here, mainly because of the fort, such as the Pallavas,

the Cholas of Uraiyur, the Rashtrakutas of Malkhad, Samboovarayar, the Vijayanagar Empire, the Nawabs of Carnatic, and the Britishers.Vellore was also the place where some decisive battles were fought, mainly between the French and British for colonial supremacy.Vellore is also famous for the first uprising against British Colonization, the Sepoy Mutiny of 1806. This was considered the prelude to the uprising in 1857, that finally led to India getting back freedom from the Britishers.

Temples in Vellore-sholinganur narasimha temple:
In vellore tours Sholingur Narasimha Temple, also known as Tirukkadikai Temple, is situated at the top of a hill in Sholingur, 27 km west of Thiruthani in Tamilnadu. vellore temple,This sacred shrine is a complex of three temples, one at ground level, one on a 500 ft high hill, and another on a smaller hill, enshrining Yoga Anjaneyar.The ground temple houses the festival image of Bhaktavatsala Perumal and Adikeshava Perumal.

The second temple stands on a 500 ft high hill called the Katikachalam Hill. 1000 steps lead to the temple. Amritavalli Taayaar is enshrined in a separate sanctum. The main deity in the temple of the smaller hill is Yoga Anjaneyar, with four arms, bearing a Shankh and a Chakra.

The Anjaneyar temple with two towers, has shrines dedicated to Pallikonda Ranganathar and Kodandaramar.It is believed that if one stays at these temples for at least half an hour, that person is guaranteed moksha. Numerous inscriptions are seen here from the period of Parantaka Chola I (10th century) as well as those from the Vijayanagar period. A big marriage hall, a hostel for overnight stay and mess facilities are available for visitors.

Kailasanatha Temple:

An epitome of an early structural temple, Kailasanath Temple reflects the rapidly emerging South Indian style: gopuras, pilastered walls, a pyramidal shikhara, and a perimeter wall enclosing the complex.

Kamakshi Amman Temple:
One of the temples in vellore India has three main cities where the Goddess Shakti is worshipped. Kanchipuram holds the most important rank among the three. In the same order, the three places are Kanchipuram, where the Goddess Kamakshi is worshipped, Madurai, where the Goddess Meenakshi is worshipped, and Kashi, where the deity is 'Visaalakshi'.

The Kamakshi Amman temple is the hub of all religious activities in Kanchipuram. The temple is also in closer control of the Shankara Mutt, unlike the other temples, which are governed either by the Department of Archeology, Government of India, or the Hindu Temples Department of the Tamil Nadu Government. The kings of the Chola Empire built the temple in 14th century AD. The main tower over the sanctum (Vimanam) of the temple is gold plated.

Also of significance is the Golden Chariot in this temple. The Golden Chariot is taken in a procession around the temple on Friday evenings around 7.00 p.m. This temple also features an Art Gallery with pictures depicting the history of Sri Adishankaracharya and the Shankara Mutt.

Golden Temple:

But when they leave, they cannot do so without taking some messages and gaining some wisdom," according to a booklet detailing the 'services' rendered by the Peetam.

"In this quagmire of materialism, Sripuram rises as an inspiration to man to find the divinity within him," adds a Narayani Peedam brochure.The arrangements were being made to hire personnel to throw a security cover around the temple. "But the gold sheets have been laid out in such a manner that it would cost more to rip it off than purchase the gold," said a top Vellore district official.

Kumara Kottam Subramaniar Temple:
The ancient temple enshrining Subramanyar at Kanchipuram has been revered by the hymns of Arunagirinathar.One of the vellore temple,It is located in between the Kamakshi and Ekambreswarar temples in the Somaskanda formation in the town of Kanchipuram

Parvathamalai:

St. Andrew's Church, which is also famous as St. Anrew's Kirk, is situated on the Poonamallee High Road a few hundred metres from the Egmore Railway Station in the Chennai city. Chennai city constitutes the capital of Tamil Nadu state and houses great many architectural, historical and religious attractions. The monument is one of the best Georgian architecture buildings in South India and Asia at large.

Mosque:

Vellore Mosque is located within ramparts of Vellore Fort, an imposing structure located at Vellore in Tamil Nadu. The history of the mosque dates back to 1750 AD. It is made of granite stones with mortar, on three sides. The front portion is plastered with lime and bricks. Vellore Mosque is now under the control of Archeological Survey of India.
