Feast of three kings in goa is a grand event in Goa. The festival commemorates the
three kings - Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar. These three kings who visited
the Christ when he was born are also known as the Three Wise Men from the

Also known as Festa dos Reis or the Holy Epiphany, the Feast of Three Kings
sees equal fervour by both the Christians and the Hindus. The grand feast of

offered to the Lady of the Mount, the patron saint of performing miracles.
Both North Goa and South Goa invite a good number of vacationers from far
and wide. Novena, the nine-day-long occasion, commences just before the
feast. During these nine days, both Hindus and the Christians go to the
chapel to offer prayers and to seek blessings. Processions follow and our

On the final day, three boys belonging to elite families don costumes to
represent the Three Kings coming to see Jesus. The boys are aged between
8-12 years and each of them bears gifts.. Each of the boys chooses a
different path to climb up the hill of Remedios on horseback. They arrive
atop the hill and meet for the high mass in festivals of india. The boys dressed in elegant clothings and wearing a crown over the head make up a spectacular sight for
all. A huge fair is opened uphill selling items like brassware, furniture,
toy, trinkets, sweetmeats, glass bangles, spices etc.
