Ayurveda panchakarma treatment - Panchakarma or panchashodhanakarma is the primary body-cleansing and purification treatment in Ayurveda. The rasaayana chikitsa can be performed and is recommended only after the panchakarma treatment. When the wick of a lamp is decarbonised the lamp glows with more light. In the similar manner the body needs to be preconditioned before opting for further Ayurveda treatments.

Before the actual Panchakarma treatment begins, the individual has to go for Pizhichil and Navarakizhi. After this all the doshas attain their respective position in the body. Now the aforementioned
treatment ejects the doshas from their positions. If the overall process is carried out with much precision and skill the ailments can be cured permanently. It is not advised during the general panchakarma therapy.

The overall Ayurveda panchakarma treatment comprises of the ollowing :

Vamana
The therapy helps to remove the kapha toxins accumulated in the body and the respiratory tract. People with high kapha disruption are benefited from this ayurveda panchakarma treatment.

Virechana
It takes out the pitta toxins, accumulated in the liver and the gall bladder, from the body. As a result, the entire gastro-intestinal tract is cleansed in panchakarma treatment.

Nasya
During this treatment, medicated oil is let to pass through the nose. It helps in cleansing the kapha toxins gathered in the head and neck region. The duration of the treatment differs from person to person in panchakarma ayurveda treatment.

Basti
The most crucial of all the panchakarma Ayurveda treatments, Basti purges all the three doshas - vatta, pitta and kapha - of the accumulated toxins. The toxins are removed through the colon in panchakarma ayurveda treatment.

Raktamoskshana
Ayurveda panchakarma treatment - Prescribed in rare conditions, it is meant for cleansing the blood. It is not advised during the general panchakarma therapy.
