» Town Hall : The Town Hall is the place to be for art connoisseurs. The picture gallery displays a fascinating collection of exquisite murals from all over the state. Watching these paintings is a worthy experience.

» Vilangankunnu : A perfect spot for arranging picnics, Vilangannu is at a distance of 7 km from Thrissur Travel. The Children's Park located here is nice place for kids to enjoy. The park is open from 0700 hours to 1900 hours.

» Guruvayoor : Guruvayoor is situated at a distance of 29 km northwest of Thrissur Travel. It is the known for the famed Sree Krishna Temple. The temple is one of the most significant in Kerala and is a chief pilgrimage centre.

Athirapally Waterfall
East of Chalakudy, near the entrance to the Sholayar forest ranges, are the beautiful waterfalls of Athirapally and Vazhachal, 5Km apart. The Athirapally is an 80 ft. high waterfall and is a mesmerizing sight to catch.

Cherutharuthy
29 Km, north of Thrissur is Cheruthuruthy, famous for the Kerala Kalamandalam, which led to a revival of Kathakali dancing. Home of the renowned repository of the tradition of the Kathakali dance form, it is in this academy, that the best of Keralas Kathakali performers get their rigorous training. The institution also offers training in music, drama, and other dance forms including Mohiniyattam, Koodiyattam and Ottam Thullal. You can watch training sessions for the traditional Indian dance arts here. There is a Kathakali Museum and a museum dedicated to the poet Shri Vallathol Narayana Menon,who was the center's founder.

Vadakkunnathan Temple
This temple is a classic example of Kerala's style of architecture. The temple contains the sacred shrines of Paramashiva, Paravathy, Sankaranarayana, Ganapathy, Sri Rama and Sri Krishna. The central shrines and Koothambalam, exhibit exquisite vignettes carved in wood. Legend goes, that Parasurama founded this temple. Thrissur Pooram, the grandest temple pageantry in Kerala, is celebrated here in April every year.

Guruvayur
It is among India's most important pilgrimage centres and also known as the Dwaraka of the South. The temple is dedicated to Krishna, known here as Guruvayurappan or the Lord of Guruvayur, and the idol is said to have been worshipped by Lord Brahma himself, at Dwaraka. The Sree Krishna Swamy Temple, which attracts thousands of pilgrims, is said to date prior to the 16th century. Tradition has it that Guru - the preceptor of the Devas, and Vayu - the lord of the Winds, created the temple. The annual utsavam or festival at Guruvayur, is held with all the pomp and pageantry with caparisoned elephants, panchavadyam and processions. There is also the aana ottam or elephant race, which is a favourite with spectators. It is at this temple, that Melpatur Narayan Bhattathiri, composed his well-known Sanskrit devotional poem, Narayaneeyam.

The Archaeological Museum
The Archaeological Museum, situated on the Town Hall road, has some good reproductions of the murals, at the Dutch Palace and sculptures in stone.
