Health and Fitness tips

  2. Climb stairs if given a choice between that and escalators or elevators
  3. Walk your dog; chase your kids; toss balls with friends, mow the lawn.
  4. Anything that moves your limbs is not only a fitness tool, it's a stress buster.
  5. Think 'move' in small increments of time. It doesn't have to be an hour in the gym or a 45-minute aerobic dance class or tai chi or kickboxing.
  6. But that's great when you're up to it. Meanwhile, move more. Thought for the day: Cha, Cha, Cha…. Then do it
  7. Nuts and sandwich meats, mayonnaise, margarine, butter and sauces should be eaten in limited amounts.
  8. Most are available in lower fat versions such as substitute butter, fat free cheeses and mayonnaise.

We aim to give you a first hand experience of the diverse wildlife of India. We expect your tour with us will give you a better understanding of nature, as we see it. We want you to experience the nature first hand and leave with valuable information and a different outlook to wildlife.

The southern part of the Indian peninsula is much less visited by foreign wildlife enthusiasts than the north west of the country. However, the quality of the southern parks is beginning to attract the attention they richly deserve. Facilities are also much improved.

Combine these aspects with an attractive and diverse landscape containing several renowned wildlife areas, then the ingredients are there for an excellent wildlife tour.

All the areas to be visited can be accessed easily from Mysore, a city of considerable cultural history. Nearby, is the famous heronry at Ranganathittu, whilst a journey of only 80 km (50 miles) will take us to Nagarhole National Park containing some of the finest forests in South India. A morning’s drive will take us to the Biligiri Rangaswamy Hills (BR Hills), a hill station where a mixture of pristine deciduous and evergreen forest will engulf us. Finally, we will make a journey to Bandipur National Park where the terrain is more rugged than at Nagarhole. As with all Papyrus tours, the easy pace will allow us to savour our wildlife sightings.

In the parks we will use jeeps, boats and elephants for wildlife viewing. However, the use of elephants in southern India for this purpose is limited since, unlike northern India, there are large numbers of wild elephants in the parks which can become inquisitive.

Bandipur National Park became one of the first of India's Tiger Reserves and the southernmost of the nine reserves specially established under Project Tiger. In 1974, intention was declared under the Wild life tours to South india Protection Act to notify it as a National Park...
